A new record for StarMile St Kitts to Nevis ! By Laurent Urban
For it’s 10th anniversary StarMile Nevis & St Kitts has beaten a new record of participants as it was sold out. 130 athletes were on the start line to face a new challenge. For the first time the 2.5 mile swim started in St Kitts to finish in Nevis where an important crowd and a buffet party was waiting for the swimmers.
This was an open race as the two record holders of the distance, Chris Mc Cormack and Olivier Marceau were not there to défend their title. Olivier Marceau, was expected later in the week to compete in the TriStar111 Nevis.
After 1 hour the first man to reach Nevis was Brian Harts (USA) who arrived 3 minutes before his runner up, a 14 year old kid Sachin Sankar from Trinidad and Tobago.
The first woman Was Johanna Starr from Nevis with a time of 1h20 just a few seconds before her runners up.
