April was also very busy for the Triathletes, following on from the inaugural TriStar long distance triathlon on the 2^nd athletes then prepared themselves for the National Triathlon Championships, which this year returned to where it all began many years ago, Frigate Bay Beach on St Kitts.

The championships were sponsored by Mr X of the Shiggidy Shack as part of the 10 year anniversary celebrations for his business, and hosted by Charles Lovrics and the St Kitts Triathlon Association.

Both National Sprint and Olympic distance champions titles were at stake on this very fine day of racing, and once again we saw the champions mantle changed again from current holder James back to Reggie, with Reggie completing the two lap course in a time of 2:21:10, and for the women it was Laura Talaga who became the National Champion, the newly crowned Sprint National Champions were Junior triathletes female Sasha Lloyd and male Shaun Brear, which bodes very well for the future of the sport of triathlon in the federation.

The Triathlon Federation also celebrated the addition of new sponsor DHL, and looks forward to developing that relationship along side that of bike sponsor UNOVELO
