NEVIS CYCLE & TRIATHLON CLUB

Sundays Criterium road race was an event that involved a 3.4 mile lap route that started on Hunkins drive, went up the bypass and back into town, it was an opportunity for the upcoming young cyclists to test themselves on a hilly course that also required some good technical bike handling skills..

We had a total of 24 athletes mostly the youths from the ongoing cycling program. Royston Queeley fresh off his phenominal 10.8 100 metre record breaking run, continued his winning form to hold off the challenge from Tarel Morton in a sprint for the line. James Weekes was the winner of the Elite male race followed by Greg Phillip who is steadily improving as he climbs the ranks, visiting ex-pro road racer Monica Ceccione took top honors for the women beating Kristina Stoney into second, Jessica Amory was 1st in the Jr Women and whilst challenging some of the older Jr boys in the race. in the Mountain bike category Devon Jeffers once again took 1st place, followed by newcomer Dorez Daniel showing great fitness and skill with an improving Benjamin Hakim in 3rd
