Janine conquers the Norseman Triathlon
Janine Herweijer recently took up the challenge of entering what must be the toughest Ironman distance race in the world, The Norseman Extreme Triathlon. This Norwegian event starts with a swim of 3.8kms in the Harganfjiord, then a gruelling 180 km bike over mountainous terrain, then followed by a 42.2 km marathon run that ends at 1,850 mtrs on top of a mountain!!! Janine, ably supported by her husband Gilles, not only completed the event, but was the first Dutch women to be given a black T-shirt prize, meaning she completed it within a very specific time limit. This is a massive achievement and all of us in the club heartily congratulate her, very well done Janine, you deserve a long rest now!
